Thor ( Chris Goad ) Sentenced To 17.5 Years For Pot Growing

Police executed a search warrant on his premises and seized over 1000 plants. He and his wife were consequently charged. His wife was sentenced to the time she spent in jail about seven months. Thor was sentenced to 210 months. His property was forfeitured. Several firearms were seized including two that were loaded that contributed to the harsh sentence. I have attached several documents.

No as I don't know if they were charged or not. The only other docs I got were on his wife who was charged and plead guilty. They treated her as someone who was controlled by her husband and was against the pot growing. They treated her with a minor role and she had no past priors. I think that was fair as she was probably put in a tough position that she didn't want and didn't know how to deal with her controlling husband who apparently displayed received past verbal abuse on her. Because that is not a excuse she spent about seven months in jail but the court took in the migrating factors in treating her with a lienent sentence compared to her husband who had many migrating factors against him.

Goad filed an appeal on his sentence. It was dismissed. Assets that were seized were put up for forfeiture. The court added another condition on his judgment that was omitted in error before that he is not allowed any contact with his wife unless his wife desires it.


This looks like a ruin life and family situation. Easy to say now but that was one big mistake on his part that he is paying dearly for. I can only assume he did not plan on getting caught. He must have had deep financial problems or was just greedy in doing what he did.

Below is from the Government's position on sentencing. We don't always know a person's background on sites but sometimes a person's behavior can lead to suspicions. I always wondered about Thor with what some of what he wrote about his accomplishments as it being the real story or not.



The lengths to which Goad would go to control his family (including
Cynthia Goad, Christopher Goad, Jr., and Gregory Durrette) is shown by his actions outlined
above under the Obstruction / Acceptance of Responsibility Section (supra, pp. 3-5). The
defendant’s most recent actions involved his efforts in retaliating against Christopher Goad, Jr.
by threatening to destroy his (Goad, Jr.’s) job at Circuit City and denying him access to Joseph
Goad (the defendant’s son and Chris, Jr.’s younger brother). The defendant’s background is also
troubling in light of his prior convictions (1987 – Racketeering / Extortion; 1988 – Petite
Larceny), laundry list of prior arrests, and the defendant’s apparent abuse of the civil justice
system as illustrated by his connection to over 100 different lawsuits filed between 1998 and
2005. Overall, as tragic as the defendant’s situation is, the sentencing range in this case is due to
Goad’s misconduct and accurately reflects his role in the scheme.

He was a moderator on Royce's site and is well known by members at Satchat. He bragged about being a lawyer and having been to court a few hundred times and about creating some light bulb.

I think it was taken away because of growing the plants on the property.
