A NewCardNews.net Investigation has come up with the latest in a string of answers in high demand about recent website closures. NewCardNews' Amanda Sims brings us this following report.
Last Month FBI field agents from the Miami office, closed in on Port St.Lucie based Mike Greco in a second phase of Operation Decrypt, ultimately named, Operation Decrypt II.Greco, known to many as "DssCandy" operated such sites as big-gs-sat and Dishsos(dss-canada). He was arrested while providing illegal services to an agent who had befriended Greco over a year ago.Greco and an associate apparently sold hu programming to the undercover FBI agent last may on four separate occasions. Greco's associate, Spencer Ray was also placed under arrest buy agents carrying out Operation Decrypt II.
Ray who has prior convictions for DUI offences, runs a fishing tour service in Gainesville Georgia and is known to friends as "Fishing Fool". Ray is alleged to have owned and operated several websites that offered satellite piracy products and services and must answer to his accusations before Florida courts in late December of this year. Further investigation led to the massive uncovering of several obscene adult websites, depicting acts of urination, bondage and simulated rape. Ray is no stranger to intellectual property theft allegations, as he was sued in federal court in November of 2002 by a US based adult website content provider.
While Greco denies ownership of any websites that sold products or services, records found by FBI officials on computer hard disks prove otherwise and link him directly to several websites, some dating as far back to the year 2000. Both individuals also face multiple counts of mail fraud charges based on using the US postal system to fund their criminal enterprises and shipping numerous electronic piracy devices through US mail. An inside source at the Justice department has informed us that the civil remedies and consequences handed down by satellite provider Directv have not been effective and there are plans to launch criminal investigations on several high ranking members of the websites allegedly operated by Greco and Ray. Charges allege in the indictment that between the dates of October 2001 and July 2002, Spencer ray and his associates cashed several checks from the same source totaling over $270,000 US. All the checks were in denominations less then $10,000 US thus avoiding financial reporting requirements.
US law makes the intentional avoidance of federal monetary transaction reporting requirements, a violation of US federal money laundering act which carries twenty years in prison per offence
Greco Was unreachable for comment at time of writing this article. Ray declined to comment, but insisted that we speak to his lawyers and to never contact him personally again.
