DETROIT- Reports are coming in from several parts of the Nation of minor LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) poisoning. Similarities in these reports link to a product that is popularly used within the satellite piracy community as the "Digital Lock 4.0" the primary use of this electronic hardware based lock is to prevent damage that is usually ensued from Ecm's (Electronic Counter Measures) sent out on a regular basis targeting illegally modified set top boxes, namely DishNetwork and Bell Expressvu that are decoding their signal without a subscription.
All the cases of lsd poisoning have been linked to small traces, on average 40 micrograms of liquid that appears to have dried on the PCB boards that the Digital Lock devices are built on. This conclusion was arrived at due to lab tests returned late Friday afternoon by a United States Scientific research lab that is well noted for it's drug testing and trace amount identification processes.
LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) is one of the major drugs making up the hallucinogen class. LSD was discovered in 1938 and is one of the most potent mood-changing chemicals. It is manufactured from lysergic acid, which is found in ergot, a fungus that grows on rye and other grains.
The effects of LSD are unpredictable. They depend on the amount taken; the user's personality, mood, and expectations; and the surroundings in which the drug is used. Usually, the user feels the first effects of the drug 30 to 90 minutes after taking it. The physical effects include dilated pupils, higher body temperature, increased heart rate and blood pressure, sweating, loss of appetite, sleeplessness, dry mouth, and tremors.
As of late Friday, fourty-nine cases of non fatal lysergic acid diethylamide poisoning resulting from direct contact to these digital locks have been reported and the authorities are looking closely into this matter. The name of the manufacturer of these devices has been withheld until further notice as well not to interfere with an ongoing investigation by authorities into this matter.

NCN has obtained the name (s) of websites that many of these locks were ordered from - Due to the sensitive nature on this matter this information will be withheld at this current moment.
